The honest truth

Most small business owners know AI matters.
Almost none know where to start.

You've heard about ChatGPT. You may have even tried it once, got something generic, and moved on. That's not AI failing — that's the setup problem. The difference between AI that wastes your time and AI that gives it back is knowing exactly how to use it for your specific business. That's what I do.

01

You're spending hours on things that take minutes

Product descriptions. Social captions. Follow-up emails. Proposals. Every week you write something you've essentially written before — and it eats time you don't have.

02

Generic AI output sounds like nobody wrote it

You've seen the robot-speak. "Excited to share this amazing opportunity!" isn't your voice. The tools aren't the problem — learning to make them sound like you is.

03

You don't need a course — you need a session

There's no shortage of AI education. What's missing is someone sitting across from you, looking at your actual business, and showing you what changes on Monday.

04

The owners pulling ahead aren't working harder

They've just removed themselves from the tasks that don't require them. That's the only variable. The rest — product knowledge, client relationships, expertise — stays entirely yours.

The session

90 minutes.
Three phases.
No wasted time.

0:00 – 0:30
Audit
We walk through your week. Where's your time actually going? What do you dread? What gets pushed to tomorrow? No assumptions — we start with your reality.
0:30 – 1:00
Demo
I show you — live, on your device, using your content — what this looks like applied to your specific problems. Not a hypothetical. Real output you can evaluate right now.
1:00 – 1:30
Plan
Three things to implement this week, in order of impact. Written down before you leave. Some people take it and run. Others want me to stay and set it up. Either works.

You leave with more than a plan.

Every session produces specific, usable deliverables — not a list of things to Google later.

  • A written action plan — 3 priorities, in sequence, ready to execute
  • A voice profile for your business — so AI writes in your language, not generic template language
  • Live demos of AI applied to your actual content — not hypotheticals
  • Tool recommendations specific to your workflow and budget
  • Prompts you can use immediately — copy, paste, done

"You're editing instead of starting from a blank page. Your voice stays. The blank page disappears."

the whole thing.

Why me

I'm not a
tech consultant.
I'm an operator.

I co-founded Smitten Booktique, a romance and romantasy independent bookstore in Leawood, Kansas, with my wife Kara. I'm the one building the inventory systems, writing the product descriptions, managing the Shopify backend, and figuring out how to make AI actually work for a real small business — not a hypothetical one.

Before Smitten, I spent over 20 years in technical sales, working with businesses across the country on complex systems and implementations. I know how to run a discovery conversation, understand what a business actually needs, and translate complicated tools into language that makes operational sense.

When I sit across from a business owner, I'm not selling you on AI. I'm sharing what I've learned running a business that depends on it working — and showing you exactly how to make it work for yours.
